To set up Outlook forwarding using Notify.Events, you need to follow these steps:
- Add the E-Mail source to a channel. See how to create a channel in the Help article How to get your first notification?.
- Set up email forwarding in the Outlook email client.
- Connect the receiving service.
Step 1. Connect the E-Mail source in Notify.Events
- On the Channel screen, click Add source in the Sources section.
- On the screen that opens, go to the Other tab and click on the E-Mail card.
- Set the desired sending settings and click Save.
- The system will automatically generate a forwarding address for you. Copy it, you will need it in the next step.
After that, E-Mail will appear on the channel screen in the Sources section. To view the dedicated address again, click on the title or on the view icon.
Step 2: Set up email forwarding in the Outlook client
The Outlook email client allows forwarding emails in two ways:
- Forwarding of all received email messages.
- Forwarding of selected email messages by setting up rules. For example, emails from a specific sender / service or containing the desired word / phrase. This will help filter out mass mailings and avoid wasting time on spam.
How to forward all emails from Outlook
- Log in to your account in the Outlook web client and go to Settings > View all Outlook settings.
- In the Mail section, select the Forwarding tab.
- Check the Enable forwarding box, paste the email address received in Notify.Events into the recipient field, save the changes. If you want all forwarded messages to remain in your mailbox, check the Keep a copy of forwarded messages box.
How to forward selected emails from Outlook
- In the Outlook web client, go to Settings > View all Outlook settings > Mail > Rules.
- Create a new rule: name it, add conditions.
- In the Add an action section, select Forward to and paste the address received in Notify.Events. Save the changes.
- After that, the rule will appear in the list. You can turn it on and off as needed.
Step 3: Connect the receiver service in Notify.Events
To start receiving instant notifications of new Outlook emails, complete the setup process by enabling recipient services. See how to connect a recipient in the Help article How to get your first notification?.
